Last night in the dark
I tread a tower stair
To a secret place.
Each tender step
Did moan beneath my weight.
Climbing heights my foot fall
Led me to a lofty door.
As I gently
Undid the latch
There came upon me
A caressing warmth.
An exquisite,
Primal instance,
A shimmering glimpse of Shalamar’s dream,
A treasure shared,
A moments clasping of my being.
Slowly I withdrew,
Descending with winged feet,
Gliding over the firmament,
To sleep in the arms of love.
Don,
I really enjoyed reading your lyric piece, “Last Night.” -Kevin
